Over the past 24 years, China has become Africa’s top trade partner, investor, and creditor, with trade surpassing $250 billion in 2022. At the summit, Chinese President Xi Jinping unveiled a 10-point plan to boost cooperation in areas like trade, health, and green development. China pledged RMB 360 billion in financial aid and granted zero-tariff treatment to 33 African countries. This partnership promises growth for Africa but requires careful consideration of long-term impacts.
