Autumn Insights from our CEO Hafedh Cherif
Dear R&C Desk Family and Clients,
A month ago, I mentioned the FOCAC (Forum on China-Africa Cooperation), where nearly all African leaders gathered in China to discuss the continent’s future development. Now, the focus has shifted to investment and financing opportunities. London is set to host AFSIC – Investing in Africa 2024, the largest annual investment conference outside Africa, from 7th to 9th October 2024. This event brings together Africa's top investors and financial backers to secure the financial commitments necessary for Africa's ambitious growth projects.
Building on China’s long-term projects for Africa, AFSIC will showcase the continent’s best investment opportunities. Now in its 11th year, AFSIC has become a key platform, connecting African business leaders with international investors, facilitating strategic meetings to explore new partnerships. The forum is expected to strengthen economic cooperation, as global competition for investment in Africa’s infrastructure, technology, and sustainable development increases.
AFSIC 2024 aims to go beyond high-level discussions, expanding networking opportunities for investors and presenting ready-to-fund projects. Direct engagement between investors and project leaders will take place, while over 20 country-focused sessions will provide deep insights into the investment climates of Africa’s fastest-growing economies.
There is hope that these forums will not only foster deals and partnerships but also offer concrete solutions to the everyday challenges faced by Africa’s population. The success of AFSIC 2024 will be measured by its capacity to address the real needs of African people and its long-term impact on sustainable development across the continent.
Dear R&C readers, enjoy your reading and have a great time!
