Among the headline announcements were a €50 million grant to strengthen agricultural value chains in Angola and an additional €8 million — supported by the Netherlands — to build the “From Transport to Trade” logistics hub in Caála. These aren’t just infrastructure projects; they’re about helping farmers, small businesses, and logistics operators tap into new markets and thrive along one of Africa’s most promising trade corridors.

Europe’s goal is clear: make the Lobito Corridor more than a route for minerals and goods — make it a lifeline for people and prosperity. The initiative aims to improve everything from port efficiency and rail operations to training programs that empower local workers. As the European Business Council for Africa (EBCAM) put it, this is “Team Europe in action,” scaling up engagement that links public investment, private partnerships, and long-term regional development.
