From Ports to Pixels:
AD Ports' Big Angola Boost
AD Ports Group is shifting gears in Angola with a mix of trucks, tech, and strategic partnerships. The group has invested $6 million in its subsidiary Noatum Unicargas Logistics, adding 30 trucks and 45 trailers. That’s enough to nearly double its overland fleet to 70 trucks and 95 trailers—boosting the speed and reliability of goods moving from port to city and beyond.
On the digital side, AD Ports has teamed up with Angola’s Regulatory Agency for Cargo and Logistics Certification (ARCCLA) to launch the Digital Single Logistics Trade Window, or JUL. This platform, which is still under development, will unify the country’s sea, air, and land trade systems, bringing together the existing Single Port Window (JUP), Single Window for Foreign Trade (JUCE), and national logistics platforms. The result? Less red tape, smoother procedures, and expected to support greener logistics.
These initiatives build on AD Ports’ recent foothold in Luanda, where it began operating the Noatum Ports Luanda Multipurpose Terminal just six months ago. Together, they form part of the group’s $250 million commitment through 2026; all about creating a smarter, more connected supply chain that can keep pace with Angola’s fast-growing economy.
And it doesn’t stop at ports and trucks. AD Ports has also signed five preliminary agreements with public and private Angolan partners, opening doors for collaboration in maritime services, cabotage, airport cargo handling, training, and even healthcare logistics. One of the most innovative projects is the DOCKTOUR joint venture with UAE-based Burjeel Holding, which aims to deliver specialized medical supply chain services across Angola.
The multi-layered strategy reflects a clear vision: to position Angola as a hub of trade, connectivity, and industrial transformation in West Africa. With digital platforms driving efficiency, expanded fleets improving inland reach, and new partnerships diversifying the service offering, AD Ports Group is not only investing in Angola but helping to position Angola as a stronger hub in West Africa.
