ECTN procedure for RORO Shipments!

COUNTRY UPDATE

Dear all,

For RORO vehicle shipments to Cameroon, we would like to inform you of an important update regarding the ECTN procedure as communicated by the Cameroon National Shippers’ Council (CNSC):

What’s New?

From May 1, 2025, shippers must provide one of the following before the final validated ECTN can be issued:

Proof of registration in the Importers/Exporters File (FIMEX)

 A valid Special Import Authorization.

Without these documents, the final ECTN cannot be authenticated.

What Can Still Be Done Without the Documents?

You can initiate your ECTN request as usual at the port of loading.

A draft ECTN will be issued so that loading can proceed.

Final authentication of the ECTN will only happen after submission of the required FIMEX or Special Authorization documentation.

Important Deadlines and Penalties

⚠️ The validated ECTN must be issued at least 2 business days before the vessel arrives in Cameroon.

Failure to comply may result in:

❌ A fine of 200% of the ECTN value

❌ Delays or rejections at the port
